Clash Client Branch Selection Guide
The Clash ecosystem has spawned many excellent graphical interface (GUI) branches. Don't know which one to download? Please refer to the official recommendations below.
Clash Verge (Highly Recommended)
A new generation client developed using the Tauri framework. It has an extremely modern and beautiful user interface, built-in powerful Meta core, and supports the latest proxy protocols like Vless and Hysteria. Currently the most actively maintained community choice for Windows and macOS users.
Clash for Windows (Classic Original)
Also known as CFW, it is the most classic and widely used PC-side proxy tool. Although the original author has stopped updating, its stability and huge third-party plugin ecosystem still make it irreplaceable for veteran users. Suitable for users who value stability over new protocols.
Clash Meta for Android
A must-have for Android users. Built on the Clash Meta open-source core, it perfectly replaces the old Clash for Android (CFA). Supports app-level split tunneling, custom routing rules, and global transparent proxy (TUN mode) with extremely low power consumption.
ClashX / ClashX Pro
A minimalist and lightweight client built specifically for macOS. It resides in the Mac menu bar and takes up no extra desktop space. Native support for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) chips with high efficiency.
Three Steps to Configure
Easily Manage Global Routing
No matter which version of Clash client you use, the core configuration logic is consistent. Just prepare your subscription link and follow these three simple steps to get started.
No client yet? Download nowInstall and Set Up
Download the client package or installer for your system from this site. Windows users are advised to extract to a path without Chinese characters. Some versions may require localization patches if needed.
Import Subscription Configuration (Profiles)
Copy the "Clash Subscription Link" from your service provider. Find the "Profiles" or "Subscriptions" option in the client, paste the link, and click download/update. Your node list will then be loaded.
Enable System Proxy
Go to the "Proxies" panel, select "Rule" mode, and choose a node with low latency. Finally, turn on the "System Proxy" switch in the "General" or sidebar. Congratulations, configuration complete!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
We have compiled some of the most common problems and troubleshooting methods encountered while using network proxies.
Why can't I access the Internet after installation?
Clash is just a local network proxy client (an a local proxy app — it does not include servers or a subscription); it does not provide network services. You must first get a subscription from your provider with overseas server nodes and import it into the software to use it.
What should I do if it says "Port Conflict"?
This is usually because other proxy software (such as V2rayN) or system services on your computer are using the default 7890 port. Please change "Mixed Port" or "Port" to 7891 or another four-digit port in the "General" settings of the software.
What is TUN mode? Do I need to enable it?
TUN mode (virtual network card mode) can route all traffic through the proxy of all software on the computer, including software that does not follow system proxy by default (such as command lines, some games, UWP apps). If you only use a browser, there is no need to enable it; if you need global software proxy, it is recommended to enable and install the Service.
What are Rule, Global, and Direct modes?
Rule: Intelligent split tunneling. Direct connection for local sites direct, international via proxy, saving traffic.
Global: Forces all network requests through proxy nodes, suitable for special scenarios not covered by rules.
Direct: Equivalent to turning off the proxy; all network requests are sent directly through the local network.
